Event Description

The Santa Rosa Marathon is returning on August 24th & 25th, 2019 for another fun day of running through the heart of California’s wine country! Join thousands of runners across four race distances and experience the pastoral beauty of late summer in Sonoma County. As if that wasn’t enough of a reason to run, you also get treated to a rockin’ after-party featuring a pancake breakfast and craft beer!

THE COURSES

HALF/FULL MARATHON

The flat and fast half marathon course runs through downtown Santa Rosa and along the Santa Rosa Creek Trail and Prince Memorial Greenway. The full marathon course also extends into west Sonoma County passing by scenic vineyards and even running through the barrel room of DeLoach Vineyards!

MARATHON START TIME: Sunday at 6:30 a.m.
HALF START TIME: Sunday at 7:15 a.m.

Both courses are USATF-certified and the full marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier!

5K/10K

The 5K and 10K both run through downtown and along the Santa Rosa Creek Trail and the Prince Memorial Greenway.

10K START TIME: Saturday at 7:00 a.m.
5K START TIME: Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

THE AFTER-PARTY

The Santa Rosa Marathon doesn’t end at the finish line – the fun continues with an awesome after-party in the Old Courthouse Square on Saturday and Sunday featuring a pancake breakfast for all runners, a free beer for runners 21+, vendor booths, music, wine, and more! More details about the post-race festivities are coming soon!

PACERS

We provide experienced pacers for both the full and half marathons. Members of the pace team will be at the expo on Friday to answer any questions and share their experience with you. There’s no need to sign-up with the pacers in advance – just keep an eye out for them in uniform with pace signs on Sunday morning. They’ll be thrilled to say hi and meet some new running friends!

Pacers for the half marathon range from 1:30 to 2:40 finish times at 10 minute increments (1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, 2:40).

Pacers for the full marathon are planned from 3:03 to 4:58. All of the Boston Qualifying times will have a pacer. Note, each full marathon pacer is placed 2 minutes in front of the BQ time in order to have a small cushion in front of the qualifying time.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

Both the start and finish lines are conveniently located in downtown Santa Rosa on 4th Street next to the Old Courthouse Square. There’s ample parking conveniently located throughout downtown Santa Rosa. Parking is free on Sunday and metered on Saturday.
