Join us in supporting the St. Johns County Legal Aid's fundraiser to raise funds for their vital work in providing legal aid services to those in need. This 5k event is aimed at raising awareness and funds for two of their key initiatives - Injunctions for Protection and Immigration Petitions for Abused Spouses & Trafficking Victims.
St. Johns County Legal Aid is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing legal services to low-income individuals who are unable to afford an attorney. They work tirelessly to represent domestic violence and abuse survivors in filing for injunctions for protection against domestic violence, repeat violence, dating violence, sexual violence, and related matters. With the special funding they receive, they can represent clients in these cases regardless of whether the clients meet their income eligibility criteria.
In addition, St. Johns County Legal Aid also provides critical support to immigrant victims of violence and trafficking. Domestic violence survivors who are immigrants can be particularly vulnerable to abuse by their sponsor. That's why St. Johns County Legal Aid assists victims of violence with petitioning for immigration status without the help of their abuser under the Violence Against Women Act. They also help other immigrant victims or trafficking victims in petitioning for immigration status.
By participating in this 5k fundraiser, you can help raise funds for St. Johns County Legal Aid's critical initiatives. Your support will help them continue to provide legal aid services to those in need and ensure that they can provide support and representation to domestic violence and abuse survivors, immigrant victims of violence, and trafficking victims.
