Event Description

Calling all runners and walkers!  Please come join the leadership, youth, and committee members of Troop 361 for the second “Run For The Future” fun run/walk. While we call this run a 5-K run, it’s really a little longer, 3.61 miles in honor of our 25+ year history as Troop 361.  The race is an out and back beginning and ending at Sertoma Park, Sioux Falls, SD.  The course is generally level, with just a few minor inclines; the course should allow for some fast run times because of how level it is.  There will be a water station at the turnaround point.  We hope to make this race an annual event, and grow the runners, and community involvement each year.  Thank you for making our second race a success!

 One part of the Scout Oath is: “To keep myself physically strong. . .”  This new 5-K race in Sioux Falls does its part to help Scouts, adult leaders, and community members keep this part of the Oath.  

 All proceeds from this race benefit Troop 361.  Some of the things the funds will be used for include: scholarship to camps for boys, Leader training and materials, youth training, purchase of new tents, and maintenance of existing equipment, and more.

 Packet pickup will be race-day only, September 30, from 6:30-7:30am at Sertoma Park.  Athlete briefing at 7:45am, including a flag ceremony presented by the youth of Troop 361.

 The entrance fee will include a T-shirt, water, and some nutrition at the end of the race.  The t-shirt, in the size ordered will be guaranteed if registered by September 15,2023 .  The race will go on in all weather conditions except when lightning is present.  No refunds or transfers.
