Local Families: Come party with us starting at 10am. The track will be open for you to run or walk at your own pace while chatting with friends or jamming to music. Whether you are a seasoned runner or a couch potato you are welcome! Please join us as we raise funds for families affected by Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.

WHAT IS CDH?

Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) occurs when the diaphragm does not fully close during fetal development. This allows abdominal organs to move or herniate into the chest which then inhibits lung growth. Children with CDH are born with smaller than normal lungs and less blood vessels causing pulmonary hypertension. CDH requires specialized care, often including ECMO which is the highest form of life support. The cause of CDH is still unknown though it effects 1 in 2500 births and has a survival rate of approximately 70%.
