How will the massage appointments work during the day?
We will have two massage therapists on site offering 30-60 minute massage appointments. The cost is $55/30min and $100/60min. Booking a massage appointment means that you will miss whatever other activity we are doing at that time; so we are keeping most of the massage appointments short for this reason and placing as many as possible during breaks/meal times. The massage time slots are first come, first serve. Our two wonderful massage therapists are Lisa Langevin and MB Gallagher. Both have extensive training in massage for athletes. Lisa will be doing Orthopedic Massage, and MB will be doing Thai Massage.
What is Orthopedic/sports massage?
What is Thai massage? Thai massage is an eastern based massage modality that encompasses deep tissue compression, myofascial stretching, acupressure, and assisted yoga positions to engage the whole body in improved mobilization while also deeply relaxing the body at the joint level.
**What is Kinstretch?
Kinstretch is a movement practice designed to maximize your body’s usable range of motion. It’s a system that was designed to help you gain overall better body control, access better range of motion, flexibility, mobility and stability within the body to better accomplish any activity or sport you are engaging in. With all of that, you are able to mitigate injury and incorporate a better understanding of how your body moves. The Kinstretch class will be taught by Megan “MB” Gallagher; MB is a licensed massage therapist as well as a functional range conditioning mobility specialist. MB has an office in Dover, NH and teaches classes and workshops around the Seacoast area. MB will gear this Kinstretch class towards runners so it will feature a lot of mobility work for the lower body.
How do I schedule my massage time slot?
After selecting the massage option you would like during registration, you will receive an email with available time slots to choose from. The appointments are first come, first served, so the sooner you schedule your massage, the higher the likelyhood you will get the slot you want!
I’m not an experienced yogi, what will the yoga class be like?
No yoga experience necessary! The yoga class will likely be the last activity of the day and will be a pretty mellow all levels flow to help your body stretch and unwind from the day. Class will be geared towards runners and offer modifications for everyone.
What do I need to bring/wear?
- Weather appropriate workout clothes; it’s fall in Maine, so we suggest layers!
- Comfortable running shoes (possibly a second pair in case of wet ground)
- A yoga mat (Annie has a few extras so please let us know if you do not have a yoga mat)
- Water bottle(s)
