Event Description

You don’t need to be a lady to run in the League of Outdoor Women’s Shady Lady Trail run this year! The race is open to men, women, children, aliens, kangaroos, etc. All of the funds raised go to support programming for the League of Outdoor Women so come show the women in your life how much you want to support their outdoor adventures! Please feel free to run or walk.

Register by September 28 to ensure you get a T-shirt.

The starting location for this year’s race will be the Joe Wheeler Boat Ramp (not at the marina as in previous years!).  Boat Ramp Location  The 10k course is a loop, while the 5k is an out and back. The trails are Joe Wheeler State Park are excellent for trail runs – they are relatively wide and well managed. There is a limited amount of elevation change on both courses – while there are hills, they aren’t very steep! There will be prizes in each age group, as well as awards for the overall winners of the 5k and 10k.
The League of Outdoor Women is a program of the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, a National Park Service-funded program at the University of North Alabama. LOW hosts monthly events in locations around northwest Alabama year-round, as well as weekly events including after work hikes, yoga, and a book club in the Shoals.
