Event Description
Join us on Saturday, October 14th for the Third Annual Martin County NAACP 5k/10k Run/Walk honoring Gloria McHardy.
This course takes you through the historic East Stuart neighborhood. All registration fees will support the work of the Martin County NAACP, a branch of the nation's largest and oldest civil rights organization. This vital community organization works on a local level to carry out the mission of securing the political, educational, social, and economic equality and rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. This year, our annual race is honoring Ms. Gloria McHardy; a caring educator, an accomplished pianist, a vigorous freedom fighter, and an active member of her congregation & community for 60 years.
The race will begin and end at the Russell Holloway, Jr. Track at Guy Davis Field at Stuart's 10th Street Recreational Center, located at 724 SE 10th Street.
The race begins promptly at 7:00am. This will be a great run with friends and family for runners of all skill levels. There will be awesome medals for all finishers, a souvenir race tech shirt, and age group awards. *Limited supplies
Packet Pick Up will be held Friday, October 13th from 12-6pm as well as on the day of the race from 6:00-6:30am at the 10th Street Community Center.
Race registration will end on Wednesday, October 11, 2021 at midnight. You will be able to register in person at Packet Pick Up on Friday, October 13 from 12-6pm at the 10th Street Community Center, but there will be NO race day registration. Once online registration has closed you may pay for registration by cash or check only.
There will be small bags handed out at the finish line with nutrition, swag, and your finisher medal.
We are humbled by the level of interest and participation in this growing event, please understand that, this year, RACE SHIRTS AND RACE PARTICIPATION MEDALS ARE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 100 PARTICIPANTS TO REGISTER!
Course information: There will be two water stops along the course 1 at the start/finish line and one at the midway point of course. In accordance with the City of Stuart's single use plastic ban, you will find pre-filled reusable silicon cups for runners/walkers to grab on their own, however we strongly encourage you to bring your own nutrition and hydration. Please note that we will not be providing bottled water at the event.
