Event Description

The Lakefront Discovery Run features two race distances: a 15k and a 5k. Each distance can be run, walked, skipped, or hopped. There will be age group awards as well as awards for overall winners. More importantly, there will be an award for ‘Best Costume’ as voted on by the event volunteers (please don’t bribe the volunteers). The run begins at Veterans Park and provides a delightful tour of Milwaukee’s lakefront. There will be candy laden aid stations on the course to fuel your run and satisfy your sweet tooth. Each runner AND volunteer will receive an event t-shirt, traditional post-race snacks, enough candy to make a dentist cringe and the best part? Oh, we’ve got a rocking post-race party planned with free beer! Come out and celebrate a successful season of Strider running!

Pre Race Registration:

15k: $45 (BLS members receive a $5 discount)

5k: $35 (BLS members receive a $5 discount)

Race Day Registration: available at Veterans Park (race shirt not guaranteed)

15k: $50 and 5k: $40

8:00-9:00 am Registration and Check-in

8:50 am  National Anthem

9:00am 15k start

9:15am 5k start

Kiddos costume race 10 minutes before National Anthem

Awards for 15k and 5k:
Overall male and female in each event and age group awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each age group M/F:
9 and under, 10-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-84; 85 and over.

Best Costume: Female/Male//Group

Volunteers: We love volunteers!  All volunteers receive a race shirt, lots of appreciation, and many thank you's!
