26 Wellness Challenge: Ignite Your 26 Days of Movement


Welcome to the Y26 Wellness Challenge, an exhilarating event brought to you by the YMCA, designed to inspire members like you to embrace 26 days of movement, wellness, and adventure. The Y26 Challenge draws its inspiration from the prestigious NYC marathon, where the YMCA stands proudly as an official charity partner, symbolizing the enduring spirit of commitment and community. In harmony with our 8 runners preparing to conquer 26.2 miles in the NYC Marathon on November 5th on behalf of the YMCA of MEWSA, the Y26 Wellness Challenge encourages participants to find their "26" days of movement and wellness. Additionally, by engaging in optional fundraising efforts, we aim to support those in need through our financial assistance program.
Y26 encourages you to find your unique "26" — a personalized journey of 26 days, each filled with diverse activities that elevate your well-being. It's not about running, but about exploring new experiences and pushing your boundaries to enhance your health and vitality.


How to Participate:

Opt-In and Register: It's FREE! Sign up for the Y26 Wellness Challenge online or at your local YMCA branch. Upon registration, you will receive a Y26 Challenge Kit containing essential materials to kickstart your 26-day journey. You will also be invited to create a fundraising page. This is optional*. 


Discover Your 26: Identify your personal "26" — 26 days of movement and activities that resonate with you. It can range from yoga sessions, cycling, swimming,  dancing, or even trying a new fitness class at the YMCA. We will provide you with a 26 day calendar to guide you if you like, or you can make your own challenge. 

Track Your Progress: Utilize the provided Y26 calendar to log your daily activities. Alternatively, you can record your efforts on our dedicated Strava and/or Facebook pages, connecting with fellow participants and celebrating each other's accomplishments.

Engage and Inspire: Share your Y26 journey on social media using the hashtag #Y26 and #ymcaofmewsa. Encourage and inspire others by showcasing your favorite activities, progress, and newfound health and fitness experiences.

Community Support: Leverage the Y26 community for motivation and support. Engage in discussions, share tips, and cheer on fellow participants, fostering a culture of encouragement and unity.


Purpose and Giving Back: In addition to focusing on your personal "26" days of movement and wellness, the Y26 Wellness Challenge encourages participants to amplify their impact by making a donation and/or fundraising. Whether it's $26, $260, or more, every dollar counts and contributes to helping others in need. 100% of these funds will be directed towards providing opportunities for those who cannot afford the cost of YMCA programs, thereby enabling them to enhance their lives through fitness and wellness.  During the registration process, you'll have the option to create a personalized fundraising page. Rally your network to contribute, amplifying the impact of your 26-day wellness journey. You can become a catalyst for positive change, supporting the YMCA's mission to make a difference in the lives of all individuals.

*Participants only that make or solicit a donation of $26 or more will receive a Y26 Challenge Give Away (ie: T-Shirt / Water Bottle / TBD) 




After you register make sure you log on to the Y26 Challenge Strava Club. Use this to track your progress. Anyone who tracks all 26 days will be entered to win fabulous prizes!
