Event Description

The United Way Annual Unity Run 5K Fundraiser has been raising money for United Way of Gordon County since 1993.  Funds from the Unity Run support our Local Community Partners as they provide services in the fields of Education, Basic Needs, and Health.  

The Unity Run is a family-friendly event that brings the entire community together.  The Race starts and ends at the Historic Calhoun Depot.  The certified race route is the same course used since 2022 and travels through a mostly flat area from the Depot to the Calhoun Recreation Department and back.  

Each year race participants are encouraged to get involved in the annual theme.  Prizes are awarded for the best dressed male and female particiants.  Vendors are on-site at the finish line to provide race participants with free giveaways.  This year food trucks will be on-site at the finish line to provide great options for refreshment and family fun.  

United Way Agencies will provide kid games and be on-site to share information about the work they provide.

Event details and schedule

Participants can pick-up their race bibs and shirts starting on Monday, September 23 at the Calhoun Depot.  Race bibs and shirts will be delivered to Corporate Sponsors on Friday, September 20.  

In-Person Registration and Pick-up schedule:  September 23-24 (10AM to 6PM)

Online Registration Closes on September 22.  

The Unity Run starts at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.  The Kid's Race starts at 4:30 at the Calhoun High School Practice Track.
