Good afternoon Striders!
We are looking for volunteers to work an aid station at 3 Bridges Marathon. The Striders have worked an aid station for this race since it began in 2013. The race is now a part of this year’s Grand Prix Series. We greatly appreciate your continued support! Please let me know ASAP if you are able to volunteer.

Date: Saturday, Dec. 9th
Location: Burns Park at Shilcott’s Bayou Bridge
Shifts Needed: 5:30-8:00 am & 8:00-10:30 am. Plus possibly one person to work 7:30-9:30 which is the busiest time. 

Directions to the aid station: Take I-430 North to I-40 EAST. Take exit 150 for Burns Park. Turn right after you take the exit. You will then be on Championship Dr. Keep going until the road ends. Turn left and drive down to the boat launch parking lot. The station is set up right before the bridge.

The race is out and back, so the runners will pass you twice - mile 5 and mile 14.4. For a period of time you will have runners going by both ways so it is helpful to have several people out there. The race starts at 7:00 am but there is an early start that begins at 5:00 am. We have been one of the few stations out for the early start every year, which those runners greatly appreciate. No experience is necessary to volunteer. You will just be handing out water and Gatorade and possibly gels to the runners. Also this location is great because there is plenty of parking and a porta-potty there. Thank you!
