Event Description


The Muddy Trails 5K will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Rob Fleming Park from 3 to 6 p.m. Muddy Trails 5K is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and is a USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event. The chip-times 5K course winds through the beautiful George Mitchell Nature Preserve, located on 1,800 acres adjacent to Rob Fleming Park in the Village of Creekside Park. The 5K race is open to runners of all abilities and recommended for participants ages 10 and older. 

Registration fee of $40 includes finisher medal, participant packet, post-race food and beverages. Please Note: A participant shirt is not included, but is available for purchase for an additional cost. There will be no Race Day Registration!

The festive Muddy Trails 5K post-race party includes live zydeco music, the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off and children’s activities. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please Note: Muddy Trails 5K is not a mud run or adventure race.

Race Day Schedule (All times subject to change.)

Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your race time.


1 p.m. - Race Day Packet Pickup at Rob Fleming Park (only those who registered and paid for Race Day Packet Pickup will be able to get their packets during this time)

2:45 p.m. - Race Day Packet Pickup Closes (no exceptions) 

3 p.m. - Muddy Trails 5K Race Start

4 p.m. - Awards Ceremony 

6 p.m. - Event Ends

Refund Policy 

100 percent of your entry fee will be refunded until February 2, 2024. Refunds will not include Active.com processing fee. Refunds can take up to 3 weeks for processing. Please email the department to request a refund.


Transfer Policy

Entry fees are nontransferable from year to year. Transfers must be completed by the deadline by logging into to your Active website account and selecting "My Events." All transfers must be completed by February 2, 2024. If you need assistance with transfers, please email the department.


Weather Cancellations

We have a "no refund policy" in regards to weather cancellations of any kind as well as changes to the race after registration. Unforeseen changes can occur at any time no matter how finalized anything seems to be. Any changes made to the race are done after careful consideration, usually due to safety concerns that arise after the race has been planned. We do everything we can to create a better, safer, more enjoyable experience for all participants.
