Join us for the 1st annual United Way "Race for the Rose" Greenway 5K
May 18, 2024 at 8:30 am, packet pickup beginning race morning at 7:30 am
Location Address: 300 Woodland Dr, Lancaster SC 29720 (Constitution Park), at the corner of N Woodland Drive and Roddey Drive, Lancaster SC. Participants should park at the Lancaster High School lot accessed from Roddey at North Woodland Drive, across from the run site.
Benefit/Mission: All proceeds benefit the United Way of Lancaster County to address the most pressing needs in the areas of Health, Education and Financial Security in our community. United Way funds programs in 17 local nonprofits and has 8 initiatives to impact these areas and serves as the lead organization for the Lancaster Area Coalition for the Homeless, uniting the community in purpose to reduce the incidence and effects of homelessness in Lancaster County.
Course description: Run for the Rose through the beautiful Lindsay Pettus Greenway, a hard surface trail incorporating asphalt and boardwalk surfaces. The Greenway winds through nature with 171 species of trees, shrubs and wildflowers, Gills Creek, and 2 public art tunnels. It will be a good location for a fast out and back race, and more leisurely runners might see members of the Greenway’s 129 species of birds or 25 species of mammals.
The Race for the Rose will be the inaugural 5K on the Greenway and we are so excited that you will join us! After the race you can head just a mile down the road to the Red Rose Festival, the signature event of the City of Lancaster, for family fun. There will be craft and business vendors, food vendors, a Kids Zone, live music, an antique car show, a dog show and lots more!

Packet Pickup:
Friday, May 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Five Grands Coffee and Creamery, 947A North Main Street in Lancaster. This is approximately 1 block from the race site and the Greenway.
· Saturday, May 18 beginning at 7:30 am at Constitution Park (race site). Participants should park at the Lancaster High School lot accessed from Roddey at North Woodland Drive, across from the run site.
