Run for Freedom 5K & 1M Run/Walk

Please join us for the Inaugural "Run for Freedom 5K /1M Health Walk!"  The race will be held Sat., April 13th at 8:00 AM and will serve to raise funds in support of Heart's Cry Ministry.

Hearts Cry Ministry is a Christ-centered, long-term residential restoration program for victims coming out of sexual abuse & trauma. With Heart’s Cry’s recently opened drop-in house for homeless or displaced women, we are able to provide a safe place for them to shower, wash clothes, take a nap, enjoy a hot meal, pick up snacks & hydration, express their needs, and receive mentorship.

The 5K is a USATF-certified course [GA21022WC] and is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.

OUR MISSION: To provide a safe environment for the mental, physical, and spiritual healing of sexual abuse victims.

Race Registration Fees:

*$30 5K Pre-Registration Entry Fee / $40 Day of Race
*$25 1M Run/Walk Entry Fee / $35 Day of Race

WANT TO SUPPORT THE CAUSE but NOT RUN/WALK THE RACE??   Be 'Ghost Runner' and sign up that way.  No shirt, no problem.  DONATE to HELP.

Race Route:

* This certified 5K Course is both fast and scenic, travelling along the beautiful Oostanaula River before finishing back in Ridge Ferry Park where it starts.

* The 1 Mile run/walk will start and finish in Ridge Ferry Park.

Parking is available at Ridge Ferry Park, 363 Riverside Pkwy NE, Rome, GA 30161

5K Awards:

Special Awards will be given to the following: 
     *Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners
     *Top Masters Male and Top Masters Female Winners
     *Top 3 Male & Female in the following Age Categories: 10-Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70&Over

1M Awards:

Medals will be given to the following: 
     *Top 3 Overall Males and Top 3 Overall Females

Please note, this is a rain or shine event.

Professional Timing:

This race will be chip-timed by Wire2Wire Running, LLC using the latest RFID technology.  Results will be posted after the race at www.wire2wirerunning.com
