Event Description
The 3rd Edition of the Space Country Classic is during the height of spring on the beautiful Central Coast of California. Two events highlight the May 4th venue, beginning with a Metric Century Gran Fondo. While cyclists enjoy the quiet coastal cliffs and rolling hills, the Mountain Bike Cross Country riders will venture out across the forests and grasslands of the mesas and through the canyons that divide them. Whether you are training for a specific race or want to try racing for the first time, the SCC provides a fun and moderately challenging competition complete with a post-race festival with music, food, and games.
Vandenberg Outdoor Recreation hosts the event with the help of SLiC Cycling.

May 4th - Schedule of Events
- 7 am - Packet pick-up outside the Main Gate; Base passes included; bring picture ID
- 9 am - Gran Fondo Start
- 9:15 - Expert MTB XC
- 9:20 - Sport MTB XC
- 9:30 - Novice MTB XC

Location: Event Venue is at Cocheo Park. Follow signs after entering the Main Gate—parking is along both sides of the street at the park.
This event is self-supported; no aid stations will be on the courses. Water will be available at the start area.
Ensure you have completed the online waivers or printed, signed, and turned them in at packet pick-up. For the VSFB waiver, click HERE.
Enter early; registration closes on April 26th to process all the base passes. Race check-in will be held starting at 7:00 am on Saturday May 4th, you will receive your base pass with your race kit.

All races are OPEN registration. Women and Men compete separately. Juniors compete in their age group (12 to 17); please indicate during registration if you want to be included in Junior or Open if you are under 18.
Courses may be modified up to the start time due to unforeseen circumstances or Vandenberg Launch operations.
