Event Description

Catawba Science Center is a 35,000 square foot science technology museum whose purpose is to change lives and inspire learning through science and wonder.  Upcoming exhibits in 2024 include Spin: The Science of Rotation, Big League Fun: The Science of Baseball, and Artificial Intelligence:  The Mind and the Machine Exhibition.  Our museum offers rotating hands-on exhibits, salt and freshwater aquarium galleries, and a state-of-the-art digital planetarium. We are dedicated to providing a fun learning environment through relevant science experiences in our many exhibitions and habitats.  Come join the fun!

Proudly serving Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Gaston, Iredell, Gaston and other surrounding counties, Catawba Science Center offers interactive and educational school field trips, engaging summer camps for youth pre-K through rising ninth grade, birthday parties, preschool science programs, homeschool classes, adult science evening programming & more!  We strive to provide an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for people of all ages!

The Splashy Sprint is a family friendly event will be used to help promote our Portal to Science program, which provides $2 admission for any person living in Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Lincoln who receives federal assistance through the departments of public health or social services. 

We are pleased to be a top tourist and educational destination point for our region.  However, we want to ensure our services are available to ALL who wish to visit.  Your kind donation will allow us to continue to provide high quality programming to engage all minds through preschool students to adults.
