International Female Ride Day (IFRD) has been observed since 2007. It is the sole brainchild of motorcyclist Vicki Gray, a globally recognized motorcycling instructor, road racer, motorcycling advocate and owner of MOTORESS, the motorcycling lifestyle online magazine. The first ride was held, Friday, May 4, 2007 in Toronto, Ontario Canada. IFRD is now recognized by women motorcycle riders in Canada, the United States, Greece, England, The Netherlands, Australia and 8 other countries including Russia. IFRD was created to highlight the number of women who ride; encourage other women to take up the activity; raise awareness about women’s equality in motorsports; celebrate women’s advancement in motorsports and powersports and ride for accelerated gender parity.

Stilettos On Steel Female Riders Group was founded in 2019 in Madison, Wisconsin by Anne Zube who took a Riders Edge course and immediately fell in love with riding. Anne wanted an organization to unite female motorcyclists of all skill levels for friendship, support, and peer-to-peer or professional learning opportunities that will make them more knowledgeable and safe motorcycle operators. Today, there are chapters in 27 states. The Newnan-City of Homes Chapter was founded in 2023 and will be celebrating its first anniversary in July.
