Junk Wheels presents: The NYC Skate Marathon & New York 100K 2024 The only skate marathon in New York City.

EVENT INFORMATION:

Get ready for the best time of the year on skates. Sure, many of the best distance skaters in the world will be there for the most challenging Inline & Roller Skating Race in North America, but the NYC Skate Marathon is open to all - beginners to experts, 6 to 90, inline, quads and recreational skates alike. This event is for EVERYONE. Join the fun, take the challenge, meet skaters from all around the world, try something new or do it again – this event rocks! Beautiful Prospect Park in Brooklyn provides a wonderful traffic free route. 

Please NOTE that there is 4 Hour time limit to complete the 100K race. Due to this, skaters that have completed this race in 4 hours or less are the only people that can register (This is a requirement in order for the event to secure a permit with the parks department).

THE EVENT IS HELD RAIN OR SHINE. REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. You have the option to purchase “ACTIVE Refund” during registration for a small fee, which would allow you to receive a refund if you are unable or unwilling to attend the event for any reason, up to 48 hours in advance. “ACTIVE Refund” is not associated with the event organizers and is wholly managed by ACTIVE.com

DISTANCES & CATEGORIES:

100K - 19 laps around the park
42K - Full Marathon - 8 laps
21K - Half Marathon - 4 laps
5K - 1 lap

Wondering which category to pick? 

-        Open: Anyone is “open” join, but typically this is for speed skaters (low cut boot with 100mm+ wheels).

-        Advanced: This is for experienced skaters including speed skaters

-        Recreational: This is for those wearing “regular” rollerblade-type skates, soft boots higher than the ankle and typically smaller wheels. This is also for those wearing speed skates but do not race competitively, and only skate recreationally for fitness/fun.

-        Quads: This is reserved for quad skaters. You may not register for this category if you wear inline skates.

 

AWARDS: 

We will award the top 3 in each Distance & Category entered male and female.  The 5K Youth race awards will be combined for boys and girls.
