Come run or walk and support the first annual Bedford Veteran Center 5k AND 1 mile races on the evening of Flag Day, Friday June 14th, 2024.
For an extra challenge & DISCOUNT, register for BOTH-5k starts at 6pm and 1 mile RUN at 7pm.
*The 1 mile WALK will start at 6:05.
5k and 1 mile RUN are timed!
Our mission for this race is to create Veteran awareness of our services and increase our reach to support more veterans and their families!
The Bedford Veteran Center was founded in 2017 and actively creates solutions that solve the problems our Veterans face. Some services we provide are a place of support, appointments with Veteran Service Officers to discuss benefits/claims, readily available food pantry AND monthly food distributions serving over 35 veterans/families, and free round trips to medical appointments to the Toledo and Ann Arbor VA.
The 5k course will not only have a crowd-friendly finish on the Bedford High School track, but the mile races are exclusively on the TRACK for the seasoned runner testing their limits, newbie building toward a 5k, or individual increasing walk/running independence. The 5k course will include parts of Indian Creek park.
Overall awards including Top Veteran finishers, T-shirt (soft, comfy & custom event), American-made finisher flags, plenty of after race food/refreshments and bathroom facilities at start and finish/on course.
These races are at no cost to our VETERANS and ACTIVE DUTY Military- follow the registration prompts for the coupon code. It's our honor to have you at the races!
