🌿🏃 Welcome to the Welcome Home Plants Inc 5K Walk/Run event! 🌸
Get ready to have some fun and join us on Saturday, June 8th, at 8:00 AM in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, USA. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to spend time together, this event is perfect for the whole family.
At Welcome Home Plants Inc, we're all about bringing nature, community, and well-being to families in supportive housing. 🌱🏡 This 5K Walk/Run is not just about fitness; it's about showing our love for plants and our community. 🌿💚
We invite everyone to get creative and wear plants and flowers during the event. Wear flower crowns, leafy necklaces, or even decorate strollers with plants and flowers! Wear floral headbands, corsages or boutonnieres or attach small potted plants to race belts. Let's make this event a colorful celebration for all ages! 🌺👟

Following the walk/run at 11am will be an award ceremony celebrating the top 3 winners of each of the following categories:
- Age Group Awards: We will recognize top performers in various age groups. This allows participants to compete and be celebrated based on their age category rather than gender. The age groups for the race are as follows: Under 12, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and above.
- Best Costume or Outfit Award: Celebrate creativity and self-expression by recognizing participants with the most innovative, fun, or unique costumes or outfits. The more plants and flowers you wear, the better your chances. To be considered for this award participants must sign up day of race to be photographed before the start of the race.
- Community Engagement Award: Celebrate the participant who actively engages with the community, volunteers, and fundraises for the event's cause. In order to be considered for this Award participants must fundraise for this cause via RunSignUp.
