What is this?

A chance to challenge yourself and ride all the Motor City Mountain Bike Association trails in 1 riding season (over 100 miles!)

How does this work?

Sign up here being sure to put in your correct long sleeve shirt size and sign the waiver
Ride the 12 official MCMBA trails this season (May 1 to September 23), alone or with friends
Post a picture of yourself and/or your bike on the trail to one of our social media outlets, or if social media is not your thing, you can text or email your pictures in.
Collect all 12 mandatory trail hashtags along with a bonus Badlands hashtag if you want.
Have fun!

What if I don't complete all 12 trails?

The challenge is to complete all 12 mandatory trails. If you cannot, then no shirt for you! However, some grace will be given for extenuating circumstances.

What do I get?

If you complete the 12 mandatory trails by the end of the event, you get a real nice long sleeve shirt (with a completed checklist of the trails on the back) that you can wear with pride. You also get an invite to celebrate your accomplishments at a get together in Mid-November in one of our local parks or establishments TBD. There will also be awards for the best pictures per trail along with a few other awards TBD.

Why is this a thing?

We want to raise awareness of the diversity and fun factor of our trails. We want people to know about how their membership money and donations are put to good use in the 100 miles of trail the MCMBA maintains. We also want to introduce more people to our amazing trails, and hopefully build a little community with people joining up for rides. We hope also that our Facebook Page would be a place where riders can organize group rides at our trails.

What if I can't complete all 4 loops of Highland? Or I can't figure out where Trail 47 is in Hines? etc...

We are not collecting Strava traces, we only want you give each of these trails a go, and ride what you can, or can navigate. Ride what you can, 1 loop of Highland will count as a completed trail! But remember, this is a challenge, so feel free to challenge yourself.

Can the Milford Bike Fest and Tree Farm Relay count towards completed trails?

When can I sign up?

Right now, but trail hashtags can only count May 1 to September 23rd. Anyone can join up to the Tree Farm Relay July 27th when registration closes.

Can you give me more details?

Riders send hashtag of trail name, hashtag for MCMBA and hashtag for” ride all the trails” along with a picture or pictures identifying the trail to a Facebook group or Instagram group or Tik-Tok or text to email set up by the MCMBA. This group would be public.

What Hashtags do I need to include to get credit for a trail?

A trail hashtag....

And also include the following 2 hashtags on all social media: #MCMBA and #MCMBASingletrackSlam

Where do I send the hashtags and pictures to?

Either the MCMBA Singletrack Slam Facebook page.
Or tag @motor_city_mba on Instagram with the appropriate trail hashtags.
Or if videos are more your style, tag @motor_city_mba on TikTok with the trail challenge hashtags.
Or if you don't do social media, text or email the picture with your name and name of the trail to slam@mcmba.org. (Don't need hashtags in this option).

Can I view what I have already completed?

We will put a link to a spreadsheet on the webpage (MCMBA.org) or the Facebook page and update it periodically.

One more reminder:

Participants who successfully complete the 12 mandatory hashtags by the end of September will be eligible for the shirt. We will have a get together in November to pass out shirts and celebrate the completion of the challenge.
