Event Description

Runners and walkers are invited to join us at Wings Etc. in Palm Harbor for the annual Memorial Day weekend 5K beginning at 9 a.m. open to all ages and levels of ability, Wings Etc. is located just north of the Dunedin border, at 3419 Alt. US 19, Palm Harbor FL 34683. The run/walk is stroller and family friendly but please no pets for this venue.

Our Memorial Weekend 5K themed for the holiday so feel free to dress in your best red right and blue then after run you'll each get to enjoy our trivia post-race party full of fun and prizes for the entire family. 

An e-mail will go out to all registrants by 2 p.m. the day before the race (Friday) with arrival and parking instructions along with your attached waiver of release and bib number assignment. If you do not receive this e-mail by 2 pm the day before your race please send an e-mail to XanaduRaceManagemnt@gmail.com and we’ll get it to you immediately.

Registration opens at Wings Etc. at 8:20 a.m.

Suzanne will walk you out as a group to the Pinellas Trail start/finish line just prior to 9:00 AM where you will begin the race and all participants will be timed using the RaceSplitter Electronic timing system, results will be posted later on race day at www.727CanRace.com We purposely do not post results at the venue in order to maintain our group of laid back non competitive runners. However, if you are a faster runner you are still welcome to join us. Many of our participants are traveling into Tampa Bay or using this venue as a training race for larger races throughout the year. We DO NOT compete with other races as our format is entirely different so if you are looking for large race in Tampa Bay on the same weekend please choose what is most appropriate for your running goals.

In addition to your awesome American Flag finishers medal, all registrants will receive a promotional technical shirt with a variety of sizes and a couple of selections you can choose from when you arrive on race morning. You will also receive a free food sampler and a free ice cold beer at our post race trivia party on the enclosed deck at Wings Etc. We will present around 20 trivia questions and prizes we give out during our post race party and this is always a great time with laughter and drinks so please invite friends and family to join you. Staff is on hand so you are welcome to start a tab with your server and order off the menu. Many of our attendees stay well into the morning and have lunch with us at wings Etc Palm Harbor on race day. You quickly discover how delicious their food is and the environment is perfect with a/c, many sports on their dozens of TV’s, good fun and great ood.

Top finisher framed awards will be presented to the first 15 males and 1st 15 females to cross the finish line so if you are handed a poker chip as you complete your run on the Pinellas trail bring it back to the post race party to redeem it for your top finisher award. We always bring additional GREAT RACE framed awards for seniors or youth who might be joining us and for those who may have had a particularly great day so if it's your birthday or if you had a great run in general let us know and we will include you in these top finisher framed awards.

Remember to register early as the race may sell out even weeks before the event and the price will raise as we get closer to the sell out date. As always if you cannot attend send us an e-mail three days prior to the race and you can switch to any other race of the same distance on our annual calendar listed at www.727CanRace.com

The run course is flat, out and back north from Oceanview, quick and swift along the Pinellas Trail, entirely paved with the turnaround just prior to reach Valley Drive in Palm Harbor.
