Event Description
Get hype for Relay-fest, Club Running's major fundraising event of the semester! Everyone loves a good relay race, whether you're capping off a successful runathon week or you haven't run since gym class in middle school. We will be offering five different relay races on the beautiful turf fields at the Park, all completed in teams of 4. (Please note: the registration cost is per person, so every team member must register individually.) If you don't have a team of 4 yet, feel free to sign up as an individual and you will be placed on a team with other individual registrants!
Relays include:
- BYOB relay: Every participant chugs a 12 oz can of their choice before running a lap around the field. In the event that you forget to BYOB, we will have root beer.
- ABAB: The classic Anything But a Baton relay. You’ve seen it at American. You’ve seen it at the home meet. It’s the last ABAB of the semester, so go crazy.
- Piggyback relay: Teams split up into pairs of 2, and each pair completes one full piggyback lap.
- 3-legged race: Also done in pairs, with each pair completing one full lap.
- Anything but a run: Feel free to take some creative license on this one. You can racewalk, crabwalk, skip, backwards run, walk on your hands, cartwheel, or do the worm for a full lap around the field. Each member of the team can do something different!
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each race, and additionally, the team with the best group costume/theme will win a prize!
All proceeds from the relay-fest will go towards funding future club expenses including uniforms and social events!
