Have you been feeling overwhelmed? Trying to quiet the noise? Find some clarity, and hit the reset button? Sign up for our FREE event happening virtually May 18-19! You can participate from anywhere, at any fitness level as we commit to a really simple (yet seemingly difficult-to-do) challenge of getting out into the fresh air for some QUIET movement.
Inspired by the book, The 12hr walk (find it here) I completed this challenge a few weeks ago after THINKING about it for nearly a year... and it was amazing. BUT, 12hrs is a huge leap for people and so I wanted to create a more reasonable starting point and let participants choose ANY time-block to commit to that feels challenging, but still fits into their lives.
You'll be plugged into a virtual chat as people log in to share their experiences/help themselves stay accountable to simply GIVING THEMSELVES SOME TIME to move a bit more intentionally. But there are "rules" in creating solitude...
The walk must be completed alone, with no music/podcasts or distractions. The idea is TRULY to quiet the noise and give yourself time to think. For those looking to incorporate more of a "physically challenging component" to it? Simply walk longer/farther. BUT the idea is not to run. It's actually JUST to walk. Take breaks as necessary. Bring a journal / food if you'd like. But no electronics. No phones. No noise (you may bring a phone for safety/emergency purposes but have it in airplane mode to protect your space).
This was an amazing experience for myself, and I look forward to seeing other people share how it goes for them as part of this community in May.
