A short time later, you’ll wonder if you were transported to the Highlands of Scotland as you run past mountaintops draped in clouds in Waimea. Beauty is pain, so get ready for the long climb along the base of the Maunakea volcano where runners will find their inner WILD. Finally, you and your team will turn up the heat and run alongside the rugged and dramatic black lava fields on the west side of the island as you circle back to the Kohala Coast and surge to the finish line. The finish is everything you imagined – pristine beaches, palm trees rustling in the ocean breeze and crashing waves in the distance from Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.
