Fall Training Group

Come join our RRCA certified coaches as we launch our Fall Half Marathon Training Program, with the goal race of the Baltimore Running Festival’s Half Marathon on October 18, 2025. Whether you plan to do this race or have other running goals this Fall, join us for a FREE organized series of speedwork and longer runs. We do hope you will become a member of the Baltimore Road Runners Club (BRRC), but all are welcome. Note that registration for the Baltimore Half Marathon is NOT included, and you are encouraged to sign up if you plan this as a goal race.

Half Marathon Training Group Details:

Training plan start date:  July 14, 2025 (first meeting will be July 17)

Speed work: Carver Center for Arts and Technology Track, 938 York Rd, Baltimore, MD 21204
Day: Thursdays at 7:00PM. (Beginning July 17)

Long runs: Due to construction at Loch Raven Reservoir, we are going to change our Saturday meeting location to the NCR Trail in Hunt Valley. Our main meeting spot will be at the Paper Mill Parking Lot on Saturday mornings at 7am.  We may throw in a few runs at Loch Raven if construction allows and we will announce them as they arise.  We recommend registering through Runsignup so you will get the email communications that are specific to this group.  The location will also be in the ‘Where Are You Running This Weekend?’ newsletter that is sent out to BRRC members and posted on the BRRC Facebook page on Fridays.

It is recommended that you have run at least 6 miles before.  Long runs will begin at 5 miles.  If you are a brand new runner, we suggest checking out the beginner runner/5k group that the BRRC offers.

This is a great group for first time half marathoners as well as experienced runners who are looking to improve their race time.  It is also a great way to get involved with the club and meet other runners in our community.

FAQ:

What if I am not able to attend every workout every week?
That’s ok! No one is taking attendance.  Your schedule only allows you to come for track night? Great, come for track night! Your schedule only allows you to show up every other Saturday? We don’t mind.  Come when you can. 

Do I have to sign up via the RunSignUp link?
No, but we highly recommend it.  You do not need to be a registered group member to show up.  BUT, if you sign up using the link provided it will be easier to stay updated on group news.  The training plan will be distributed using the registrant list.  We also occasionally send emails about cancellations, changes in location, and general news. 

Do I have to be a BRRC member to join the training group?
No, but why wouldn’t you want to be a member?  For only $24 a year ($30 for a family), you can get access to many free races, fun runs, track meets, and more.  Plus, you get to be a part of this great running community that we have in Baltimore. So while you technically don’t need to be a member to train with us, we highly encourage it.
