Event Description
Get in the holiday spirit and bookend your race season with Portland's favorite winter Half Marathon and 5K in December! The fantastic out and back course starts and finishes at the Adidas North America Campus and winds along Willamette Blvd to the sounds of carolers all along the course!
The flat and scenic route is the only race course fully completed in beautiful North Portland, so you can be sure you're getting a unique event, full of fantastic features and sights. The Historic St. John's Bridge, the beautiful Univeristy of Portland campus, and panoramic views of Downtown Portland from the bluff of Willamette Blvd. are just a few of the highlights awaiting you!
Finish the race and treat yourself to a seasonal craft beer, hearty holiday soup, hot chocolate, hot oatmeal, egg nog, and more! You want holiday music? You get LOTS of Holiday music all morning long! With a combination of carolers along the course and DJ's spinning holiday beats at the finish, you're sure to get your fill of festive cheer this December.
If you're not excited about Christmas, Hanukkah, and every other Holiday festivity after this race, then you just might be the Grinch!

ABOUT
A portion of your race proceeds will be distributed to a variety of local non-profits via Foot Traffic’s RUNdraising efforts. Over $10,000 each calendar year will be distributed EXCLUSIVELY to local non-profits thanks to your support of the Holiday Half & 5K!
An additional, $5,000-$15,000 is estimated to be raised through individuals and groups training for the race through our training programs using our RUNdraising Training programs. Find out how! IMPORTANT! REFUND and INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY:
Due to the nature of a large, sold-out event (similar to a concert), there are absolutely NO REFUNDS and NO TRANSFERS from year to year for this race, NO exceptions. However, transfer options from participant to participant are available within the current year and there is more information at the event website regarding this. We are one of the few races that allow these kinds of transfers in order to allow the maximum amount of people to enjoy the race each year!
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: There will absolutely be no direct refunds, EVEN in the account of a race postponement or ultimate cancellation due to weather. This race will occur in many cold weather situations, however, if the event is unable to occur due to inclement weather (ie. any snow or ice that prevents the police from monitoring the course), there will be no refunds. The City of Porltand and the police ultimately decide when an event is possible or not. HOWEVER, we will offer a voucher for $25 for half marathon participants and $15 for 5K participants for a future Holiday Half & 5K event up to TWO years after the event! In addition, you will still receive your shirt, commemorative bib, and medals as well (these all must be ordered over a month in advance, so we can't cancel these items). Again, there will absolutely be no direct refunds, even in the account of a postponement or cancellation. There are significant costs, charitable contributions, staffing, facility and rental commitments, etc... that are associated with an event that cannot be recouped.
