Event Description
This presentation will explore affordable assistive technology (AT) solutions that empower individuals in various settings—education, workplace, home, and community. We’ll begin with a brief introduction to NCATP (North Carolina Assistive Technology Program) and an overview of what assistive technology is and why it matters.
The main focus will be on practical, low-cost solutions, including apps, software, Google extensions, and DIY tools that enhance accessibility, communication, learning, and independence. Attendees will leave with a curated list of budget-friendly AT options and insights on how to integrate them into daily life to break down barriers without breaking the bank.
This presentation is hosted by the NC Assistive Technology Program. Presenters are Julie Dutchess, ATP from the Sanford AT Center and Samantha Westrich, M.S. CCC-SLP. from the Greensboro AT Center.
