Event Description

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Boardman Hobbyjogger Invitational! We’re excited to bring back the event and donate even more profits to Every Dog Matters!

If you plan to participate in 1-4 events, hit that option, and hit the option for 5-7 if you plan to participate in 5-7 events. If signing up for a relay, you must select that option in addition to the 1-4 or 5-7 event options. If only signing up for a relay, only select the Relay Sign Up option. If signing up for multiple relays, you MUST GO BACK AND RE-REGISTER FOR ANOTHER RELAY. We know that sucks, but that's our best solution. You may add or subtract more events in the future, but no more than 7 events is permitted. Relay races do count toward your race total. Do not select the 1-4 Events option AND then 5-7 Events option, otherwise you'll pay more money than you have to.

In addition to the online sign-up, we will still be offering a cash payment option. You must inform one of the meet managers of your intent to compete and pay in cash, and they will handle it from there.

Questions, changes, or sign-ups can be directed to dtheodore17@gmail.com or ejboots@icloud.com, or you can DM us questions on our Instagram page, @boardman_hobbyjoggers.

New event explanations below:

Wiffleball Bat Javelin:
Each participant will be given a wiffle ball bat and will have three tries to launch the bat across the turf field. You will be allowed a runup within the endzone and the throw will be measured by where the bat impacts the ground as judged by officials. If you step over the line while throwing or immediately after the throw, the throw will be disqualified.

Suit and Tie 400m Dash:
A 400 meter (one lap) sprint in which each athlete must be wearing a full suit and tie. This includes a tie or bowtie (no clip-ons) and a suit jacket. As of right now, shorts are acceptable, but that is subject to change so check our instagram and race website frequently. You are NOT required to wear a dress shirt under the jacket, nor are you required to wear dress shoes. You may wear any shoes you choose, including spikes.

Beach Bash 4x200m Relay:
This relay is a simple four person 800 meter relay where each leg will race 200m. The baton for this relay will be a pool noodle. Pool noodles for batons WILL be provided by the hosts. The use of pool floaties may be integrated but as of now is not necessary. The use or requirement of pool floaties is subject to change, so continue to follow along our instagram and race website frequently.

Pit Stop 3200m Run:
This is a 3200 (8 laps, ~2 mile) run where every 800m (two laps) the athlete must change their shoes. Each running athlete must bring at least two pairs of shoes for this event. It is OK to switch between just two pairs throughout the race. These shoes can be anything, whether that’s spikes, trainers, tennis shoes, sandals, whatever you want them to be, and do not HAVE to be tied if you do not want them to be.

Taco Bell 4x400m Relay:
Each leg of this relay must consume one of the four components of the Taco Bell meal prior to running their leg. The order of which each person consumes each part is up to the discretion of the relay. Taco Bell will be provided, including 1 hard shell taco, 1 beefy five layer burrito, 1 cinnamon twist, and 1 Baja Blast per relay. Athletes will not be permitted to leave the line until they have consumed their component and are approved to go by the official. Failure to wait for official approval will result in a team disqualification.

We look forward to seeing you on June 21st! We're counting down the days.
