Event Description

The South Florida First Responders Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, is hosting a benefit race to make a positive impact on the mental health needs of South Florida first responders. They have always been there for you; now is an opportunity for you to be there for them. This is a community event. We will be hosting a fun run, a 1-mile run, a 5K, and a 10K race. We hope to have 2,000 participants, including runners, walkers, and spectators, from local running communities as well as Police, Fire Rescue, Ocean Rescue, and military agencies throughout South Florida.
As a nonprofit itself, the foundation will donate all proceeds, minus vendor fees, to the Broward Sheriff's Office Benevolent Association, the Pompano Beach Fire Rescue Benevolent Association, and the Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue Benevolent Association.
In addition to the above-mentioned beneficiaries, the South Florida First Responders Foundation Inc. (501(c)(3)) will donate a portion of the proceeds to "Stomping Out the Stigma," a nonprofit organization that provides free counseling services to First Responders whose mental health has been compromised. The services are 100% confidential and do not furnish invoices with names, report back to any departments, or share any information with insurance companies. And the Florida chapter of "First Responders Foundation ," a nonprofit organization that rescues and provides free emotional support dogs to first responders in need.
