Event Description
“Step by Step. Mile by Mile. Victory Through Perseverance.”
In celebration of Achievement Week, the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. invites you to join us on Saturday, November 22nd for the inaugural Perseverance: The V Foundation 5K, a community walk/run held on Centennial Campus at North Carolina State University. This event honors the legacy of Jimmy Valvano, a symbol of resilience, determination, and NC State excellence, while raising funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization he helped inspire. The 5K reflects our fraternity’s commitment to uplift our communities through service, health awareness, and legacy-building. Whether you're a student, alumni, faculty, or community member, this is your chance to run (or walk) with purpose. Together, our goal is to raise $5,000 toward cancer research and launch a Homecoming-season tradition grounded in Omega values: manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift.
Featuring Special Guest Speaker: Brother Tony Knox, Past Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
A champion for men's health and cancer awareness, Brother Knox will share a powerful message about perseverance, advocacy, and community action. His presence will also help amplify the mission of PHEN (Prostate Health Education Network), an organization focused on prostate health and free cancer screenings in the Black community.
