Event Description
The Turkey Trot : Have a blast wobbling.... before you start gobbling! This turkey trot is the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Dumas, Texas so locals can still run on thanksgiving in Amarillo too! There is something for everyone in this race set, with a competitive 10k, competitive and non-competitive 5k, and a fun run/walk (1-mile). The little ones are welcome too! The little gobbler's dash is for kids 10 and under and they can walk, run, bike, scoot or stroll a 200-yard dash filled with goodies and cheers! Gobblers, non-competitors, and fun run participants receive a t-shirt and mini medal for their participation and all top 3 runners in their age category (5 age groups) will earn a mega medal! The top male and female in every age group receive a prize! Also... those who love to dress up or entertain... there is a prize for most spirited in the races too! Join us for food and fun, and silent auction during and after! The proceeds of this event support Miss Emily's Kids Inc Childcare Center in Dumas Tx. This will help them with their winter events and for repairs needed throughout their center! See you there! Check out the vendors, beer garden and raffle before and after each race! This will surely be a treat!
The Cocoa Run: Want to beat your trot time? Want an extra challenge? Want some delicious cocoa ?! Make it a series or join us in December instead of November and Run the cocoa run! This will be a 5k and 10k and a jingle bell run! Prizes for most festive and race winners and everyone gets a mini medal and shirt! Want to be EPIC? Run the series for a 3rd medal! This means you ran the 5k or 10k for both races and you are crushing goals for the holidays! We may have some special holiday characters joining us for the race too! and cheering on our jingle bell 1 milers! For children under 12 there is a wheels option (stroller or bike) in the jingle bell run!
