Event Description

We’re 3 women who met while running the trails of Long Island—and somewhere between shared miles, muddy shoes, and endless conversations in the woods, The Witching Hours was born. Whether you’re chasing a distance PR, dipping your toes into your first trail event, or just craving a day in the woods with good people and lots of snacks, you belong here.

We’re excited to welcome you to Manorville Hills, one of Long Island’s most unique and expansive trail systems. With 3-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour options, The Witching Hours invites you to run, hike, or meander along a 5k loop featuring long pine corridors, soft needle-covered paths, and an iconic wooden teepee that feels like something out of a fairytale. The course is runnable and beginner-friendly, but with approximately 270 feet of elevation gain per loop, still enough of a challenge to keep seasoned runners intrigued.

We want to create space for new trail runners of all backgrounds—because this sport belongs to all of us. There’s something transformative about the trails, and we want you to experience that in a space that feels safe, supportive, and a little enchanted.

What to expect:

    •    A 5k loop with ~270 ft gain, winding through pines and rolling hills

    •    1 well-stocked aid station with lots of tasty treats at start/finish of loop

    •    Come-as-you-are community vibes—walkers, newbies, and experienced runners are all welcome

    •    Swag, finisher medals for everyone who signs up by 11/1. All runners will get a post-race meal.

    •   A large covered area will be provided for runners to leave their belongings, no individual tents allowed

    •    A touch of trail magic to keep your spirits high

We will be hosting 2 training runs on the course—dates will be announced on our social media. For more info follow us on Facebook and Instagram @outthererunningcompany
