Event Description

9/11/2001…23 years ago our country was shocked by the devastating attacks on the Twin Towers in New York.  On that fateful day, hundreds of FDNY Fire Fighters rushed to the scene and many began that arduous climb to rescue those in danger on the affected floors.  Each year, Fire Fighters from all over this great country gather to commemorate the selfless acts of these Heroes. Although the exact location they ultimately reached is unknown, we climb the 120 flights it would have taken to reach the top of the WTC. We climb the distance for them because we know they never would have stopped. The tragic events of September claimed the lives of 343 Fire Fighters.

The Brunswick Fire Foundation would be honored to have members of our community and surrounding communities come and join us in honoring these fallen HEROES by climbing the 120 Flights of stairs at Glynn Stadium. You will be joined by some of the finest Fire Fighters in the area climbing these 120 flights in full gear.  You will get an inside look at the effort these Fire Fighters were putting forth to rescue those in need. This really is a once in a lifetime time opportunity to pay tribute to the 9/11 Heroes and challenge yourself.  In the process, you will be supporting The Brunswick City Fire Fighters through the Brunswick Fire Foundation.

You may make the climb alone, as a 5 person team or be accompanied by a local fire fighter for part of your journey. This is a profession built on selflessness, sacrifice, family, community, togetherness and love, so give us a few hours of your Saturday…You will not be disappointed!
