Join us on Labor Day - Monday, September 1st, for the Montgomery Whitewater Golden Hour Races- 5K, River & Trail Triathlon and Lil' Tri

Golden Hour | 5K | Sept. 1st | 7:00am
The Montgomery Whitewater Golden Hour 5K is a professionally timed event open to runners (and walkers!) of all ages and abilities. The unique course will take runners through the beautiful grounds at Montgomery Whitewater, with both start and finish at the Main Pavilion Breezeway Entrance. Awards will be given to the top finishers and 5-year age groups.

Golden Hour | River & Trial Triathlon | Sept. 1st | 8:00am

The River & Trail Tri is an adventure race presented by PT Solutions. This race is designed for 12- to 17-year-olds who want to take on a multi-sport challenge. Participants will complete a one-mile multi-terrain run, a 1.5-mile bike ride through our wooded trail system, and a 2,200-ft low-flow paddle through the creek channel.

Built as the next step up from the Lil Tri, this race features longer distances and more technical terrain—giving young athletes a true taste of adventure racing in a natural environment.

Montgomery Whitewater will provide all of the equipment needed for the kayak paddle portion; however, athletes will need to bring their own bike and helmet.

Please note that this race is not timed. Overall, 1,2 and 3rd place finishers will be announced. All participants will receive a race t-shirt, medal, and bandana to tie dye.

Golden Hour | Lil' Tri | Sept. 1st | 9:00am

Montgomery Whitewater’s “Lil Tri” puts a fun spin on the traditional triathlon by challenging young athletes to run, bike, and PADDLE across the finish line, presented by Montgomery, Prattville, Pike Road Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics. Open to kids ages 6 to 11, Lil Tri consists of a 370-yard flatwater paddle, 704-yard bike ride, and 880-yard run.

Montgomery Whitewater will provide all of the equipment needed for the flatwater paddle; however, athletes will need to bring their own bike and helmet. Kids ages 6-10 must have an adult in the ducky (inflatable kayak) for the water portion of the race. 11-year- olds may paddle on their own.

Please note that this race is not timed and there will be no official winner announced. All participants will receive a race t-shirt, medal, and bandana to tie dye.

IMPORTANT: To receive a race t-shirt, you must register by Wednesday, August 20th.

Race packet pick-up is on Sunday, August 31st, under the Montgomery Whitewater Park Pavilion from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

*Races will be held rain or shine. All efforts will be made to finish the scheduled events. However, in the event of extreme inclement weather that prevents us from conducting the races safely, there will be no refunds.*
