Event Description
Welcome to Southern Grit Endurance Challenge
Located in south-central Kentucky, Southern Grit takes place in a landscape where rugged hills meet gently rolling terrain — a natural transition between the Appalachian Plateau and the Bluegrass region. Nestled in the distinctive “Knobs” region, steep wooded hills rise dramatically from fertile farmland, creating a striking and scenic backdrop. The race unfolds in the small community of Butchertown, in northern Casey County.
Race Overview
Southern Grit offers 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-hour races, along with 6- and 12-hour ruck events, promising a true test for athletes of all backgrounds and abilities. This spectator-friendly event invites runners, families, and friends to enjoy an unforgettable weekend of endurance, camaraderie, and fun.
Main Aid Station
One of the best parts of Southern Grit Endurance Challenge is the warm, community atmosphere at our main aid station, located right at the start/finish line. We’ll also have water and Tailwind available out on the course for quick replenishment while you’re on your loop.
At the main station, you’ll find all the essentials — water, electrolytes, and classic aid station snacks — plus delicious hot food you won’t want to miss.
If you prefer self-aid, you’re in luck — you’ll pass your tent or vehicle on every loop, making it easy to grab your own food, gear, and supplies without stepping off the course.
