Join us for a scenic 8k or 4k run, walk, or roll with Achilles Long Island, starting near the iconic Jones Beach bandshell at 9:00 AM!
The Long Island chapter of Achilles International transforms the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. Since 1983, Achilles International has empowered over 150,000 athletes of all ages and ability levels to participate in endurance events around the globe. Whether your goal is to complete a race for the first time ever, go for a weekly walk or ride with new friends, or to reach the podium at the Abbott World Marathon Majors, Achilles wants to help you succeed.
We welcome people of all ages living with a disability, including but not limited to those who live with:
Blindness or low vision
Deafness or hard of hearing
Cognitive, developmental and intellectual disabilities
Limb loss
Multiple sclerosis
Cerebral palsy
Spinal cord injuries
Traumatic brain injuries
We also proudly welcome military veterans.
There will be a very strict cut off time of 1 hour 40 minutes for the 8K race. This means if you do not hit the 4K turn around (2KM) mark by 25 minutes in you will be re-routed onto the 4K course to finish.
