Event Description
The Victory 5K, a certified and sanctioned race through USATF, is a family-friendly community event with a great course and uplifting atmosphere. We are proud to hold the certification and sanctioning to be able to offer the best race possible for our participants. The community of Hibbing is excited to host this run/walk event once again in 2026!
The race begins at 9:00 AM and provides chip timing to all runners. Participants who register by Sunday, March 22 will receive a discounted entry fee of $30 for adults and $20 for youth. After March 22, the regular registration fees will be $40 for adults and $30 for youth. All participants who register by Friday, April 10 are guaranteed a 2026 Victory 5K race shirt and finisher medal!
Serious runners are excited about the certified course and the awards with prize baskets presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. The overall winners are determined based on gun time. Awards are also presented based on chip time to the top three male and female runners in each age division, the top three finishers in the walking division, and the top three finishers in the wheelchair division. Each year the results are submitted to USATF Minnesota and are eligible for records and runner's of the year lists. The Victory 5K has the following age divisions for 2026: 0-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
Team awards spur on creativity and many teams register each year. To build a team, no experience is required - just fun! The teams are not timed or awarded based on performance at the race. Awards like “Largest Team”, “Best Name”, or “Best Dressed” bring smiles and excitement to race day.
The event also includes a Free Kids Fun Run immediately following the conclusion of the 5K. Kids 10 and under will complete a fun loop around the school grounds to introduce them to the love of running. All the kids run participants will receive a finisher’s treat! Please register children for the fun run event to make race day as smooth as possible for waivers and awards. Children's t-shirts are available for purchase online using the "Kids Fun Run T-Shirt" registration. This option is only available until April 12th, 2026.
Participants can pick up all the race information the night before at the Annual VCA Pasta Feed. Carbs are important and the homemade recipe has been a staple in the Hibbing Community for years. Pasta feed tickets are available as an add-on to your race registration, by registering for the pasta feed event, by visiting the store on this website, or at the door. Take-out and delivery is available for pasta feed orders. Participants who aren't available on Friday can pick up their race packets prior to 8:30 AM at VCA on race day.
Proceeds from the race benefit the students of VCA and the patients of Project Care. VCA is proud to host the event and aspires to make a positive impact on the community. As part of this mission, VCA has committed to donating a percentage of the race proceeds to the Project Care Free Clinic. Project Care provides free basic health care services to those who are underinsured or uninsured. Both Project Care and VCA are 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations aimed at serving well those who walk through their doors. By teaming up to organize and run this premier 5K event on the Iron Range, both organizations can be quipped financially to better serve our people.
For anyone who loves to help and give back to the running community or to support our cause, volunteer registration is open on this registration website under the "Volunteer" tab. Tasks include options like race setup, route volunteers, and the pasta feed. Please select the timeslot and activity that best works for you. Each volunteer who registers will be given an official Staff 2026 Victory 5K T-shirt!
