The Humboldt Bay Area combines spectacular scenery with the perfect climate for year round running.

August is a dry month with an average high temperature of only 62.6 degrees (17 Celsius), so ideal conditions for this race are almost guaranteed.

Whether you are trying for a Boston qualifying time (marathon course certification CA-16003-KY), striving for another personal record, or just looking for a uniquely beautiful place to run, the Humboldt Bay Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and Marina Mile races are exactly what you're looking for!

Saturday, August 11:

4:30 PM to 7 PM: Packet pickup and late registration at 1611 Peninsula Drive, Manila CA

5 PM to 7 PM: Pasta Feed at 1611 Peninsula Drive, Manila CA (off Highway 255 near mile 21 of the Marathon course)

Sunday, August 12:

6:00 AM: Marathon Late registration, 7th and F Streets, Eureka

7:00 AM: Marathon start, 7th and F Streets, Eureka

7:00 AM: Half marathon shuttle bus service starts from finish area (1st and C Streets, Eureka) to half marathon start area in Arcata

7:30 AM: Half marathon late registration at the Arcata Plaza

8:30 AM: 5K Race Start, C Street Plaza Eureka

8:40 AM: Last half marathon shuttle bus departs Eureka

9:00 AM: Marina Mile Fun Run Start, C Street Plaza Eureka

9:00 AM: Half marathon start, Arcata Plaza, 8th and G Streets Arcata

8:00 AM to 1:30 PM: Finish area activities

Marathon course time limit is 6 hours, 30 minutes and the Half Marathon course time limit is 4 hours, 30 minutes.  If you need extra time, please contact the race director (director@humboldtbaymarathon.com) to make arrangements for an early start.  Early start time requests must be approved in advance by the race director.  Any marathon runner who falls behind a pace of 15 minutes per mile (measured by the normal marathon start time) will be disqualified and offered a ride in the sag vehicle.  Half marathon runners must also stay ahead of the sag vehicle.  The course will be closed and roads reopened as the sag vehicle passes.
