Event Description
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little-known and often misunderstood cause of heart attacks. Most patients are young, healthy, active women who have none of the typical risk factors for heart disease. Although less common, SCAD can affect men as well. It can recur—and it can be fatal. More research is urgently needed to identify the causes and determine the most effective treatments.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, including pregnant women and new mothers.
This holiday season, we invite you to support this vital work. Your contribution helps fund research that brings us closer to answers, improved treatments, and lives saved.
