Event Description
Calling all runners, hikers, and walkers who need an outing to calm their mind!
Set aside some time for yourself and allow your thoughts to settle into a peaceful quietude with this 5K (3.1 miles). This event is designed to support both physical well-being and a sound mind, reminding us how even small amounts of movement can make a significant impact. According to UCLA Health, “…on average, a person has 3.4 poor mental health days per month. But among those who exercise, the number of poor mental health days dropped by more than 40 percent” (UCLA Health). Exercise releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins, which help boost mood and improve concentration. In fact, one study found that “…running just 15 minutes per day can lower your chances of having depression by about 26%” (Schmidt). By participating, you’re allowing your mind a chance to reset, creating a sense of calm within and an overall improved mood, so come join us! #mindovermiles
