Event Description
Strides for Safety 5K Run/Walk is a family-friendly, timed 5K benefiting the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), supporting food allergy research, education, and advocacy. Inspired by lived experience, this event raises awareness for the 1 in 13 U.S. children living with food allergies and helps create safer, more inclusive communities.
The scenic 3.1-mile course winds through Winton Woods Park, featuring a beautiful lake, wooded trails, and spring scenery. This event is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, including families, kids, and runners.
What makes Strides for Safety unique is its commitment to inclusion and safety. Participants can enjoy allergen-friendly food options, a welcoming environment, and a mission rooted in real impact. Thanks to our generous sponsors, the post-race celebration includes music, family games, raffle baskets, prizes, and a Travelin' Tom's Coffee Truck.
Official Strides for Safety 5K t-shirts will be available for purchase, and awards will be given to the top three finishers, along with a special award for the most spirited food allergy family.
Join us as we turn strides into safety; every step helps protect children and families affected by food allergies!
