Event Description
Come join Great Lakes Sled Dog Association (GLSDA) for the Great Lakes Sled Dog Derby sled dog race on the beautiful Sweetwater trail system at Stearn's Siding in Baldwin, MI.
This is a rustic site with no outbuildings. Porta-potty facilities will be available. There are no food vendors permitted, so bring your own lunch!
Classes and Entries
The following race classes are offered. These classes are ISDRA Sanctioned:
8 Dog Sled (9.4 miles) Pro, Registered Breed*, Sport
6 Dog Sled (6.1 miles) Pro, Registered Breed*, Sport
4 Dog Sled (4.2 miles) Pro, Registered Breed*, Sport
2 Dog Adult Skijor (4.2 miles)
2 Dog Adult Fat Time Bike (3.1 miles)
JR 3 Dog Sled (3.1 mi) must be 16 or under
*NOTE: Registered Breeds must be AKC/CKC/UKC Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, or
Samoyeds-NO ILP Dogs
Entries will close on Tuesday, January 27, 2025 at 8PM EST
No late entries/changes please!
Race Requirements/Equipment
ISDRA rules will be followed for all classes
No Whips
No Wrist Ropes and/or Driver Restraints Allowed
Sled Bag, Snow Hook and Snub Line Required in All Sled Classes
Mandatory Snub Line Start
Helmets required for JR class
GLSDA Membership
GLSDA Membership is required to race and you will not be permitted to race until your membership has been paid
