Get ready to hit the trail and support a great cause at The Cattle Drive 5K, brought to you by the Plowboy 100 Club! 🐄👟 Join us on March 21 on the beautiful Tarleton State University campus in Stephenville, Texas for a community-wide 5K run/walk that’s fun for all ages — from seasoned runners to families with little ones.

This spirited event isn’t just about the run — it’s a benefit for the Tarleton State Plowboys, one of the university’s oldest and most dedicated spirit organizations. Known for sporting cowboy hats, white shirts, and purple chaps, the Plowboys bring energy and pride to athletic events, campus traditions, and community activities year-round. They’re famous for supporting Tarleton Texans at games and rallies and helping build and light the enormous L.V. Risinger Bonfire each homecoming season — all while giving back through service and school spirit.

Whether you’re racing for a new personal best, walking with friends, or cheering on family members, The Cattle Drive 5K is a perfect way to celebrate community, support student-led tradition, and enjoy a morning of fitness and fun. Can’t get up that early? Don’t sweat it!!! Show your support from the comfort of home in your pjs! Registrants will receive a t-shirt but will not be assigned a bib or be eligible for awards. Your packet will be sent to you or available at race day packet pick up.  You must be registered by March 18.

March 21st 2:00 pm (day of the race)

Front of Tarleton State Rec Center, 610 N Rome Avenue

Race Day Schedule:

Walk up registration: 2:00 pm-4:30pm

5K Run @ 5pm.
