Join the Love Yourself Virtual Challenge

It’s time to pause, reset, and choose you. The Love Yourself Virtual Challenge is a four‑week, organization‑wide well‑being challenge designed to support both physical and mental health through simple, meaningful daily actions.

This virtual challenge encourages employees to log Move Minutes and Mindful Minutes in ways that fit their lifestyle, schedule, and energy level. Whether you prefer walking, stretching, dancing, meditation, journaling, creative activities, or quiet moments of reflection, every minute you log is a healthy pick for your body, your mind, and your future.

Employees may participate individually, create or join teams, or participate anonymously, making this challenge flexible, inclusive, and accessible to everyone. The focus is on self‑care, consistency, and connection, not competition.

Who can register to participate?

You must be an active employee of HMSA, 18 years or older, located in the state of Hawaiʻi, and working 20 or more hours per week. Contractors and temporary hires are not eligible to participate in the challenge, but we encourage them to engage in physical and mental health as part of overall self-care.

  • Activities Deadline: March 23, 2026

You Choose Your Minutes: Every minute you log is your healthy pick for your body, your mind, and your future.

  • Move Minutes
    Activities that elevate the heart rate, build strength, improve flexibility, or simply encourage joyful movement. This includes any sport or physical activity such as weightlifting, running, jogging, biking/cycling, walking, rock climbing, martial arts, hiking, yoga, stretching, dancing, surfing, paddling, and swimming.
  • Mindful Minutes
    Activities that promote presence, calm, and intentional self-reflection. This includes practices such as sitting or breathing meditation, body scans, guided meditations (including sleep or habit-change sessions), journaling (writing, voice, or mood tracking), creative expression through art, gardening, the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique, trying healthy food (mindful eating), intentional reading, healing or restorative baths, and loving-kindness practices. All activities are focused on one task at a time (not multi-tasking).
