Event Description

2nd annual event brought to you by Run 4 A Way, this 5k and 10k run will be run Saturday, August 27th up in the cool air scented by the tall Sugar Pines.

Staged at Alta Sierra ski area, this dirt road course makes a convenient figure 8 allowing to offer both the 5k and 10k options without ever duplicating the scenic views. With typical triple digits scorching the arid landscape below, the Greenhorn Grunt & Grind offers a cool refreshing break with a 6600 foot elevation starting point. Considering the rugged landscape, the course is relatively flat and utilizes the old established logging roads with the occasional single track detour.

Proceeds from this race will be donated to Rotary for the RYLA.

The Rotary raises money every year to send 2 to 4 high school sophomores to their RYLA program. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Academy. It's a four day program that hundreds of similar kids from Southern California are sponsored from their local Rotary's.

Run 4 Away is under special use permit from the Sequoia National Forest and we operate on a non-discriminatory basis.
