Event Description
The Acoma Sky City Jamboree is a unique running and walking event set in the heart of Acoma Pueblo, one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America. The event offers a beautiful way to experience the history, culture, and scenic landscape of Sky City while taking part in a professionally timed race. The courses lead participants through areas where the natural beauty and historic setting come together to create an unforgettable experience.
Participants can choose from three distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Fitness Walk

- Every half-marathon finisher will receive a custom high-tech shirt, sunglasses, a running hat, a spike bag, and a beautifully designed medal to commemorate their achievement.
- Every 5k finisher will receive a custom high-tech shirt, sunglasses, and a medal.
- Every 1-mile finisher will receive a custom high-tech shirt and a bib number.
Cultural Celebration and Location
The race weekend is centered around the Sky City Cultural Center & Haak’u Museum event site. This cultural hub showcases the history, creativity, and living traditions of the Acoma people. The center and museum serve as a gateway to understanding the deep heritage of the Acoma Pueblo, with exhibits that explore the community’s origins, art, and cultural practices.
History and Heritage
Sky City sits atop a 367-foot sandstone bluff and dates back over 900 years, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the United States. Guided tours originating from the Cultural Center allow visitors to explore traditional adobe structures and learn about the ways of life that have persisted for centuries.
