Event Description
NC Urban Mushing is excited to help celebrate the 2025-2026 Mushing Season this July in the mountains of VA and would love for you to join fellow mushers in the heart of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains for a weekend of community and celebration. You do NOT have to be an ISDRA member to attend; however, the outdoor banquet will include the ISDRA annual meeting and celebrate the medal winners
Date: July 18 (camping available Friday and Saturday nights)

Meals: Saturday Dinner Provided
Who can come: Open to ISDRA and non-ISDRA members of the mushing community
Registration for the Saturday Events: $30
Planned Schedule:
- Friday Afternoon/evening: Arrival on site, hang out with friends, potential campfire if no burn ban (drought concerns).
- Saturday morning/day: Group hike or run on local trails, plus time to enjoy the area on your own
- Saturday evening: Dinner, meeting, awards, lawn games/cornhole tournament/etc
- Sunday: Enjoy the scenery and load out
Lodging Options:
On-site
Dry camping (in a field) ($20/night/person) or 3 dry cabins with queen beds on site ($100 for the weekend)
with bathroom/shower house available
Off-site rentals available through Rugby Creek; Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Independence VA ~30 minutes away etc
Local Activities:
- On-site trails, gravel roads, and a swimming pond (dogs should remain leashed)
- Nearby Appalachian Trail and Grayson Highlands State Park
- River floating with dog-friendly shuttle services available
