Hosted by Another Bike Shop (ABS)

Girls Rock will be heading back to Another Bike Shop (ABS) on Saturday, June 4th for a ride in Wilder Ranch. We offer no-drop mountain bike rides for all levels of riders. Please bring your own mountain bike or a demo mountain bike and familiarize yourself with the bike before we begin. For this ride only, Specialized will offer a limited number of demo bikes, which you can reserve here. Please bring your own pedals and shoes!

If you book a bike demo, arrive by 9 am to get set up on the bike.  Or, arrive by 9:30 am for coffee breakfast, courtesy of local Realtors Team House Hunter.  At 9:45, we’ll have announcements, awesome deals and sweet giveaways!  We’ll follow our usual format, breaking into smaller groups by level and rolling out to trails by 10 am.

The clinic will be designed for beginner/intermediate riders (see our Ride Levels definitions - not appropriate for new riders). Abby will go over body position and balance, cornering and back pedaling, front wheel lifts and drops. Abby is a posture specialist: At her clinics, you will learn to eliminate unhelpful movement patterns and ride with balance, form and flow. Clinic cost is $75 per rider, cash or check only, payable to Abby the day of the ride. RSVP at abbyhippely.com. For bonus fun, there will be an option to play for an additional hour on the nearby Santa Cruz Pump Track, following the 2-hour clinic. Please talk to Abby at the event if you are interested. She’ll do a special rate of $10 per person on the pump-track. Questions? Please contact Abby directly.

About Abby:
Abby is a certified personal trainer and mountain bike skills coach with 15 years experience riding and racing at the pro level. She’s done it all, from XC to DH, Enduro and Dirt-jumping. Abby says that cycling has been a way for her to discover her own potential, understand her personal hurdles and come out of the experience a stronger, more confident person. She wants to share this gift with others; facilitate people’s ability to open up to their own potential and help them connect to their best selves through cycling. Welcome to the process!

Beginner Skills by Velocity Bike Parks:
Mountain biking is as much about your mental game as it is about your skill. Velocity Bike Parks offers skill sessions designed to progress you through your riding ability -- physically and mentally. In an encouraging atmosphere, you will learn and practice skills in a controlled environment. Then, you will progress to take those skills out on the trail. This session will focus on the fundamentals of mountain biking. These fundamentals will be the cornerstone to becoming a confident and efficient rider.

This clinic will include 1-1.5 hour skills development plus 1.5 - 2 hours trail riding; this will include on-trail skills coaching. Cost is $40, and the clinic will be limited to 8 participants.
