Event Description
"Where the pleats meet the streets!"
The long-standing tradition of a 5K road race during Maine Celtic Celebration weekend continues with this year’s revived running of the Kilted Canter 5K Run/Walk. Wear a kilt and join in the Celtic Celebration weekend festivities. Sponsored by the Belfast Lions Club, the race continues to be run on the same relatively flat course as in the past, through the lovely, picturesque, and proudly historic neighborhoods of Belfast, Maine. Awards will be given to the top overall female and male runners and to the top male and female runners in each of nine age groups from pre-teen through 80+. And the Kilted Canter 5K Run/Walk is only the beginning! Please visit the Celtic Celebration for great music and activities at the Belfast Common, Friday thru Sunday, July 17-19, 2026.
